You Can Save Up To $3,000 On A Bunch Of GM EVs At Costco

- Costco’s Auto Program has EV incentives of up to $3,000 for its members.
- The wholesale giant has several General Motors EVs on the list.
- Volvo EVs and PHEVs are also eligible.
Electric cars are still more expensive compared to their gas-powered competitors, so incentives of all kinds can go a long way for someone who’s looking to get a new EV.
Thankfully, there are still federal and state incentives new buyers can access (for now, at least), but an extra discount doesn’t hurt. And here’s where Costco’s Auto Program comes into play.

The American wholesale giant is offering up to $3,000 in discounts on several General Motors-made electric cars by the end of July. There’s just one condition: a Costco membership that was finalized before June 2.
The Chevrolet BrightDrop 400 and BrightDrop 600 electric vans get the biggest discounts, with $3,000 off for Executive members and $2,750 for Gold Star and Business members.
If #vanlife isn’t exactly your thing or you just want a passenger EV, there’s plenty to choose from. The highest-ranking Costco members can shave $1,250 off the purchase price of the Chevrolet Silverado EV, GMC Sierra EV, GMC Hummer EV pickup and SUV, Chevrolet Blazer EV, and Chevrolet Equinox EV. Gold Star and Business members get $1,000 off.
Costco’s incentives can be stacked with other discounts and tax credits. For instance, Chevy is offering up to $25,500 in discounts for the BrightDrop van, which can be stacked with the $7,500 federal tax credit (if the owner is eligible) and Costco’s incentive. This way, the battery-powered van’s price can go down by as much as $36,000.
Costco’s Auto program also includes discounts on GM’s EV chargers. The GM PowerUp 2 Charger, which is a Wi-Fi-connected Level 2 charger with an output of up to 11.5 kilowatts, can be had for $105 off if you’re a Costco member. Furthermore, the GM Energy PowerShift Charger has a $255 discount at Costco. It can deliver up to 19.2 kW of power on an 80-amp circuit and can be paired with the GM Energy V2H Enablement Kit to transform a connected EV into a battery generator that can power a house during an outage.
If General Motors’ cars aren’t your cup of tea, Costco’s Auto Program also has up to $1,250 in incentives for Volvo electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids through June.
To get a Costco discount, you need to register for a savings certificate on Costco’s website. Then, you can show the certificate at the dealership.
