Lucid’s Aggressive Pricing Strategy Just Landed It Another Record Quarter

  • Lucid Motors had its sixth consecutive record for vehicle deliveries.
  • Year-over-year, Lucid delivered 38% more cars; quarter-over-quarter, deliveries increased 6%.
  • In the first half of the year, the numbers are even better, with an increase of 47%.

Lucid Motors’ aggressive pricing strategy and the launch of the Gravity SUV are paying off. The California-based luxury EV maker had its sixth consecutive record quarter for vehicle deliveries, while the numbers for the first half of the year are even more impressive.

In Q2, Lucid manufactured 3,863 cars, amounting to an increase of 83% over last year. Deliveries in the second quarter totaled 3,309 EVs–that’s 38% more year-over-year and 6% more compared to the previous quarter, when 200 fewer vehicles were delivered.

In the first six months of 2025, the maker of the Air and Gravity EVs built 6,075 cars, 58% more than during the same period last year, and delivered 6,075 units, an increase of 47%.

The company doesn’t offer specific numbers for the Air and Gravity, and instead bundles all the figures together. However, it’s not hard to see why the American EV maker’s deliveries went through the roof, percentage-wise, at least.

In May, Lucid had a hard-to-miss leasing offer for the Air sedan, where it would give up to $22,500 in stackable discounts if certain criteria were met. That’s a quarter off the list price of the 2025 Air Touring, which usually retails for roughly $90,000.

The launch of the Gravity electric SUV is also a big deal, with the automaker admitting earlier this year that most of its customers are now coming from disgruntled Tesla customers who probably traded in their cars to get away from the controversial image of Elon Musk. At the beginning of 2025, half of Lucid’s customers came from former Tesla owners, according to Interim Lucid Motors CEO Marc Winterhoff.

In the case of the Gravity, over 75% of orders are from people who don’t own a Lucid Air. This means the company is now appealing to a new customer base who’s looking to get a large luxury EV with some headline-making features.

The Lucid Gravity is currently the fastest-charging EV in the United States, being capable of accepting up to 400 kilowatts of power from a compatible DC fast charger. But that’s not all, because the Gravity also has a very well-appointed interior and can drive up to 450 miles on a full charge. Meanwhile, the Air sedan recently set a new world record for the longest electric drive on a single charge, traveling a whopping 749 miles without stopping to recharge.
